MASSIVE STONE BALL USED BY MONGOLS FOUND IN ERZURUM, TURKEY

A massive stone ball (a round shot), 1 meter in diameter and weighs nearly 2 tons, found at the construction site in Erzurum, Turkey. According to the experts, this giant ball belongs to the Mongolian army and was used for the military purposes to take down the walls of the cities during their Anatolia invasion that dates back to the 13th century. Local media reports that the ball was taken to the Erzurum Museum for the further research.
Erzurum, a city located in eastern Anatolia, was attacked twice by Mongols in 1231 and 1242.
